Job Responsibility:
Oversee multiple design projects simultaneously, establishing project scope, schedules, and budgets while monitoring progress against established milestones
Coordinate internal design teams and external consultants, ensuring seamless collaboration and information flow throughout project lifecycles
Manage design documentation, review deliverables for quality and compliance, and implement corrective actions when projects deviate from planned parameters
Provide technical guidance and design direction across various project phases, from schematic design through construction documentation
Review and approve design concepts, drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation to ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Resolve complex design challenges, make critical design decisions, and ensure design solutions are constructible, cost-effective, and aligned with project objectives
Lead, mentor, and develop design team members, fostering professional growth and technical competency
Assign project responsibilities, provide performance feedback, and promote collaborative work environments
Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate coordination and resolve conflicts
Serve as primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, presenting design concepts and addressing concerns
Establish and maintain quality control processes, ensuring all design work meets organizational standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field required
Master's degree preferred
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive design experience
Proficiency in industry-standard design software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent tools
Strong understanding of building codes, accessibility standards, sustainability principles, and construction methods
Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and project management software
Demonstrated leadership abilities with proven track record of successfully managing complex design projects
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
Financial acumen including budget management and resource allocation
