Job Description:

As our new Design Manager Roads/Civil Lead in Perth, you’ll be a vital part of our Transport Land and Water team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to be carbon neutral and sustainable.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and coordinate the design process across a portfolio of large-scale Roads and/or Civil projects, ensuring innovative, high-quality, and cost-effective solutions that meet client, stakeholder, and regulatory requirements
  • Proactively resolve technical and design challenges to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standard
  • Bringing diverse groups of people together to deliver seamlessly
  • Creating a thriving, collaborative and a high-performance culture within project teams
  • Building strong trust-based relationships with delivery partners and clients
  • Managing the interface between disciplines through all stages of delivery
  • Liaising with construction contractors, government agencies, and stakeholders
  • Concise communication with project governance groups
  • Input into the pursuit of future opportunities in the market

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
  • Experience as a Design Manager on major Roads projects
  • Understanding of how the design impacts the construction methodology
  • Understanding of project and consortium commercial aspects
  • Ability to create followship with a positive leadership style and a focus on team culture
  • Strong decision making skills
