Job Description

Design Engineer – Product Design & Front-End (React JS). They’re building a next-generation platform that uses AI-driven simulations to help people master complex human interactions (sales, negotiation, patient dialogues, leadership conversations). As we scale our product, we’re looking for a talented Design Engineer who bridges product design and front-end engineering to help deliver beautiful, usable, performant experiences.

Job Responsibility

  • Own the design and implementation of key parts of the product interface and user experience (web application)
  • Work in a cross-functional team (product, design, engineering) to translate user needs and business goals into scalable web UI
  • Be hands-on: from prototyping in design tools through to shipping production React JS components
  • Ensure high quality, maintainable code, strong UI/UX, accessibility, and performance for our web app
  • Help define and enforce design systems, component libraries, and front-end architecture
  • Collaborate with back-end engineers, product managers and UX designers to deliver features end-to-end
  • Continuously iterate and improve the product — using data, feedback and design thinking
  • Lead the design of user flows, interaction patterns, UI visuals and component behaviour for our product
  • Create high-fidelity designs, mockups, prototypes (using tools like Figma, Sketch, AdobeXD, etc)
  • Translate design assets into clean, modular, reusable React JS code, implementing component libraries, views and application logic
  • Ensure the front-end codebase adheres to best practices (performance, accessibility, responsive/mobile, maintainability)
  • Define and own front-end architecture decisions (React version, state management, styling approaches, bundling, etc)
  • Work with UX researchers and product managers to validate design assumptions, run usability tests, iterate on design
  • Help establish and maintain a design system, style guide, and shared component library across the product
  • Review peer code and design work, mentor junior engineers/designers, contribute to front-end engineering culture
  • Stay up-to-date with front-end technologies and design trends, bring in new ideas for improved UX and engineering efficiency

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Designer (UX/UI) AND/OR as a front-end engineer (or both)
  • Strong hands-on experience with React JS (including component design, state management, hooks, functional components)
  • Solid experience building web applications, including: HTML5, CSS3 (or CSS-in-JS, SASS/LESS), responsive and mobile web design
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
  • Experience working in a design system / component-library environment (creating, maintaining reusable components)
  • Good visual design skills and understanding of UX best practices (user flows, interaction design, accessibility, performance)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, and engineering teams in a remote/distributed environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to think broadly (product + business + users) and focus on execution
  • Must be located in Europe, able to work in a European time‐zone and authorised to work from/for a European‐based company

Nice to have

  • Experience with modern front-end tooling: Webpack, Rollup, ES Modules, CI/CD for front-end, Storybook, etc
  • Experience with TypeScript (particularly in React codebases)
  • Familiarity with analytics tools, A/B testing, user research processes
  • Experience with designing and implementing animations/interactions or advanced UI transitions
  • Experience with back-end integration, APIs (REST/GraphQL) and working closely with back-end engineers
  • Prior experience building SaaS products, simulation platforms, or interactive learning applications
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and performance optimization techniques

What we offer

  • A key role in a fast-growing, ambitious AI company with opportunities to shape product and architecture
  • Full remote work (Europe) with flexible working hours and an autonomous culture
  • Competitive compensation (up to USD 150,000/year) plus benefits (to be specified by your local entity)
  • Opportunity to work with an international team, cutting-edge AI product, and strong growth potential
  • Professional development: ability to lead modules, mentor others, contribute to design & engineering culture
