Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to create fit-for-purpose utility network designs, alongside providing detailed calculations and civil works specifications, to form comprehensive construction packs. This customer-facing role is crucial for delivering high-quality designs while supporting the growth of our business through customer satisfaction and best practices.

Job Responsibility:

Report to the Senior Design Engineer for project quality, customer service, and technical resolutions
Develop utility network designs as instructed by the Senior Design Engineer, ensuring compliance with business and customer needs
Work closely with the Business Development team, ESOs, and Designers to meet tender, design, and construction requirements while adhering to project budgets and timelines
Creatively address resource and scheduling challenges to maintain project delivery while escalating issues when necessary
Promote a zero-harm culture and ensure compliance with HSEQ policies through active involvement in health and safety planning
Proactively manage HSEQ issues and near misses while fostering an accident-free work environment

Requirements:

Degree: Engineering or technical subject (BTEC or equivalent experience)
Professional Certification: Chartered or aspiring towards Chartered/Incorporated Engineer status
Knowledge of engineering principles and construction
Experience working on development sites, including new utility connections
Understanding of health and safety legislation
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
