Reporting to the UK Design Manager, you will be part of the design team in delivering commercially and technically accurate designs in a timely manner.
Job Responsibility:
Producing electrical designs for DNO/IDNO substations which conform to their standards and CDM requirements, and overseeing the production of technical, commercial, and contractual documents for engineering product procurement
Working collaboratively with the Electrical Design team to ensure the timely production of effective designs
Liaising with operational teams to ensure smooth processes from initial enquiry through to final connection and business closure
Complying with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company procedures, as well as design assurance and audit processes
Providing an excellent customer service, and mentoring other team members to enhance their technical knowledge and experience
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge and experience in electrical engineering, including power system and protection design between 11kV - 132kV
Ability to provide technical advice and resolve a wide range of technical power engineering issues
Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, company standards, and policies
Awareness of current and emerging technological developments in distribution plant and equipment
Capability to work effectively with external engineering organizations, customers, and stakeholders
Strong safety culture and knowledge of construction design and management (CDM) regulations
Proficiency in using Microsoft desktop applications, AutoCAD and/or Micro station
Proven relevant experience and a relevant professional qualification (e.g. Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status)
