Job Description:

Our partner is a well-established international renewable energy developer with a strong track record across Europe. They specialise in the development, financing, construction, and long-term operation of large-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects, supporting the energy transition through innovative and reliable solutions. As Project Engineer – Solar & BESS, you will play a key role in the execution and delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Germany. You will work closely with internal teams, EPCs, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are designed, constructed, and commissioned to the highest technical, quality, and safety standards. This is a hybrid position, with up to 3 days per week in the Hamburg office and the remaining time working remotely. Occasional travel to project sites and meetings will be required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the technical execution of solar PV and BESS projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover
  • Review and validate engineering designs, ensuring compliance with grid connection, permitting, and regulatory requirements
  • Act as the main technical point of contact for EPCs, contractors, and suppliers during project delivery
  • Monitor site activities and support construction teams in resolving technical issues
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards
  • Support technical due diligence and contribute to continuous improvement across the project portfolio

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or a related engineering discipline
  • Proven experience in delivering utility-scale solar PV projects
  • BESS experience is a strong advantage
  • Good knowledge of German standards, grid requirements, and permitting processes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Practical, solution-driven mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic project environment
