In order to manage current and future projects, Airbus Helicopters is looking for you to join the team in Donauwörth as soon as possible as our new Design & Development Engineer – Hydraulics & Flight Control (m/f/d). Your mission : Design, develop and assure continuing airworthiness of Helicopter Flight Controls, Hydraulics and Actuation.
Job Responsibility:
Contributing to system ownership throughout the entire product life cycle taking into account cost, certification, manufacturing and maintainability aspects
Codeveloping system requirements, specification of flight control kinematics, actuators, hydraulic system components and mechatronics equipment
Participating in the concept and detailed design of flight control, hydraulics and actuation systems and components
Applying advanced knowledge of metallic materials, manufacturing processes, and surface treatments to the design of flight control kinematics
Providing technical guidance in the design and sizing of hydraulic systems and components (actuators, pumps, valves, etc.)
Facilitating assembly and integration studies, including the creation of detailed designs and manufacturing documents using CATIA V5
Generating design and engineering documentation, as well as records for qualification and certification processes
Supporting in Developing maintenance concepts and validating maintenance documentation
Implementing product improvements and handle obsolescence
Collaborating on product improvements, obsolescence management, and the continued airworthiness of the aircraft
Cross-functional collaboration with Architects, Avionics, Autopilot, Flight Physics, Stress/Loads, Final Assembly Line (FAL), Customer Support, and Flight Test
Managing supplier relations with German, French, and international partners regarding development, qualification, testing, series support, and flight safety maintenance
Requirements:
Master’s degree or Diploma in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field of study
At least 5 years of professional experience in engineering, ideally within the aerospace industry
Experience in mechanical design and system integration is highly desirable
Proficiency in CATIA V5, as well as experience with PLM/ERP systems such as Windchill and SAP, is an advantage
Fluency in English (negotiation level) and a solid command of German
