Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Design Consultant to join our team on a contract basis. This role involves providing expert guidance in workplace technology design, collaborating with clients to deliver solutions that align with their goals and standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with clients, designers, and project teams to assess project objectives and recommend technology design solutions tailored to business needs
  • Provide expert advice on audiovisual systems, security infrastructure, and low-voltage equipment, ensuring alignment with workplace standards
  • Develop and refine design documentation, including detailed AutoCAD and Revit drawings, system diagrams, and equipment lists
  • Create project-ready materials by applying workplace technology standards to client-provided base files
  • Coordinate with technicians, engineers, and external partners to maintain accuracy and consistency across all deliverables
  • Ensure seamless integration between design specifications, drawings, and system requirements
  • Participate in project meetings, offering insights and updates to support stakeholder coordination
  • Assist with the preparation of addenda, narratives, and other design-related communications
  • Evaluate functionality, scalability, and user experience considerations to support informed design decisions
  • Monitor and organize updates to ensure project milestones are met effectively

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience in technology design
  • Minimum of one year of AutoCAD experience
  • Revit experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with certifications such as Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) or Physical Security (PSP) is advantageous but not required
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities
  • Knowledge of best practices in system design, scalability, and user experience
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with certifications such as Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) or Physical Security (PSP)
  • Revit experience
