Job Description:

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Design Authority Architect in Defence Intelligence (m/f) to join our Solution Architecture department based in Elancourt, France. You will be placed within Intelligence Data Processing Centre of Competence, under the roof of the Technical governance entity. This position operates within the context of fulfilling the mission on Bids / Programs for large Systems of Systems for home countries and / or Export customers for multi-Intelligence systems and solutions, solutions being complex Information Systems, integrating several software modules on heterogeneous network infrastructures, interfacing with sensors and effectors.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serving as the ultimate technical authority for Bids and projects, making critical decisions and arbitrating trade-offs between requirements and program constraints
  • Liaising with Program entities, Sales, and Portfolio teams to define and agree on technical solutions and reference architectures that meet customer needs and requirements
  • Collaborating with end customers to define their needs
  • Ensuring the overall technical consistency of the solution in coordination with all engineering contributors, particularly software architects and Portfolio management
  • Making necessary technical, time, cost, and risk trade-offs to ensure developed items meet specifications
  • Defining technical effort and cost estimates, as well as maintaining a register of technical risks and opportunities for associated activities
  • Responsible for software defence architecture for the Multi Intelligence Market (Image, Radar and Communication data, Open-source data)
  • Responsible for technical definition, engineering deliverables, schedule, cost, quality and risk management aspects up to acceptance of the sub-system or component as part of the overall system
  • Coordinating the results of value engineering, design-to-cost with the constraints for developments and satisfaction of different use cases

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in System Engineering and Architecture
  • Proven knowledge and experience in defining complex Information Systems, with a particular focus on data management and processing
  • Strong knowledge of the Intelligence and Defense (image, electromagnetic open source data) is highly desirable
  • Experience in developing System/Solution offerings, including: Capturing, formulating, validating, and cascading end-user requirements
  • Conducting operational and functional analysis
  • Developing technical proposals and associated cost estimates
  • Experience in leading architectural activities using SAFe and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills and active listening abilities
  • Strong organizational skills, a collaborative team spirit, and an open-minded approach
  • Language Skills: Advanced English and negotiation-level French
  • The candidate must have French nationality in accordance with IGI 1300 of 11/30/2011 (article 65)
  • This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities
