Job Description:

Our Design, Approvals & Brand Standards Officer is our KFC design brand gate keeper, approving designs for special project rollouts. This includes remodels, new builds and special brand projects to deliver a one system brand building network of restaurants across Australia.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the facility design approvals on specialty projects across 750 KFC restaurants
  • Ensuring brand consistency across both remodels and new builds
  • Manage national database on Monday.com of all restaurant remodels and specialty projects
  • Responsible for AIS remodel reporting that is periodically sent to global HQ
  • Reporting to global on new build approvals via global platform BYTE
  • Supporting brand standards manager in the remodel design approval packages (DAP)
  • Ensuring Design Brand Standard compliance across all facilities actions, including a minimum 95% of assets are on the 5-year remodel cycle. (approx. 150 Facility Actions Per annum)
  • Support the Brand Project Design and Construction manager on to ensure the alignment of brand projects (e.g. energy efficiencies, sustainability, and special brand projects)
  • Support the Brand Facilities manager in the co-ordination and management of the building green process for new stores
  • Managing relationships with 60+ franchisees, designated consultants and service providers with regard to Asset Design Brand Standards
  • Support the D&C team with systems, processes, and stakeholder communications
  • Explore and recommend new and comparable designs, methods, techniques, specifications and materials that may improve property value, lower building costs and maximise the image, operational ability and profitability of our assets
  • Maintain a full knowledge of current planning, building and health codes, regulations and ordinances, Environmentally Sustainable Design and other OH&S standards
  • Execute other duties as required by the business

Requirements:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Building Architectural Design, Interior Design/Architecture, or a similar technical field
  • Experience in Interior Architecture, Building Design, Industrial Design, Project Management, Construction, or Procurement
  • Experience in the FMCG or retail sector highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set clear deadlines, and meet goals
  • Experience with estimating, tendering, the administration of contracts, construction programming, specifications and scheduling methods will be favourably considered
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with sound independent judgment and responsibility
  • Willingness to undertake national and international travel as required
