Job Description:

Design and Technology Teacher - East Grinstead Area. Are you a passionate and innovative Design and Technology Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of creators, makers, and problem-solvers? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dedicated and forward-thinking department in a vibrant school located in the East Grinstead area. We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled DT teacher to contribute to a thriving learning environment where students are encouraged to explore their creativity and develop practical skills for the future.

Job Responsibility:

Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons in Design and Technology
Inspire and motivate students to develop their creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities
Contribute to the ongoing development of the DT curriculum
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
Ensure a safe and stimulating workshop and classroom environment
Collaborate effectively with colleagues
Participate in and contribute to the school's co-curricular programme and departmental activities

Requirements:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Genuine passion for Design and Technology
Strong understanding of the design process
Excellent subject knowledge and practical skills, ideally with a strength in Resistant Materials
Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Committed to professional development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement

Nice to have:

Specialism in Resistant Materials
Experience or interest in Food Technology or Product Design
