We are seeking a Derivatives Lawyer to join our expanding bench of legal professionals supporting top-tier clients in the financial services sector. This role is ideal for a motivated lawyer with experience advising on derivatives, trading, and capital markets transactions, and a strong understanding of Canadian securities and derivatives regulation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Draft, negotiate, and advise a variety of derivatives and trading agreements
  • Provide legal advice on regulatory, compliance, and transactional issues affecting derivatives and financial markets activities
  • Support clients in understanding and managing legal and regulatory risks across trading and investment operations
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business practices and documentation

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in derivatives, trading, or capital markets law, ideally from a major law firm, financial institution and/or in-house legal team
  • Deep familiarity with Canadian derivatives regulation and related securities law frameworks
  • Actively licensed and in good standing as a lawyer in a Canadian province
