This role has the unique opportunity to shape the future of our full spectrum Electronic Warfare capabilities with agile, leveraged solutions for both defense and attack applications from the sea to the stars. Successful candidates must have the ability to handle agile, dynamic portfolio execution to ensure high-leverage customer commitments are delivered to schedule and cost. The Deputy Vice President/General Manager serves as the trusted partner to the ECS VP/GM and is responsible for driving business operations, partnering with the team to deliver on our strategy to achieve business success and positioning the business for continued growth. The role will help integrate a mix of matrixed and decentralized organizations to enable the ECS leadership team to deliver business growth, process improvement, accretive financial results and a strong workplace culture. The position reports directly to the ECS Vice President/General Manager and based at our business area headquarters in southern NH.
Job Responsibility:
Drive line and functional management alignment across the business area and to all product lines
Lead development of annual ECS financial planning, business salient commitments, and quarterly business updates
Lead the development of the ECS five year IBP business planning process, identifying growth strategies, investment requirements, operational improvements, facility needs and staffing plans
Manage the ECS product line & program portfolio to ensure effective program execution, delivery of customer commitments and risk & opportunity management, while consistently delivering predictable financial results that meet or exceed current year operating plan
Drive improvements in program management methods and rigor
Drive effective customer relations, contract management, supply chain management, and risk & opportunity management to deliver on commitments while creating a culture of program management excellence
Partner with the team to set the strategic direction of the business to continue driving new capabilities and capture emerging customer needs while dealing with competitive threats
Pursue market expansion, partnerships, and potential acquisitions that will drive the growth and competitive position
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline
At least 15+ years’ experience supporting matrixed functional and program teams through all phases of the lifecycle on large, complex programs with responsibility for all aspects of program objectives including performance, quality, schedule, and cost
Proven large scale program or product portfolio execution experience across the entire product life cycle (development, production and sustainment)
Experience working closely with government customers including the Department of Defense for requirements development and creating, bidding, and negotiating winning proposals
Successful experience managing financial performance of programs or portfolios
Strong people leadership skills to build an organization that constantly meets aggressive goals based on a culture of teamwork, candor, and accountability across and between product lines and functions
