Job Description:

The CI Deputy Technical Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the direct support of a Group Manager of a highly technical team in an effort to drive a variety of engineering activities including the solution design, software development, acquisition and deployment of hardware infrastructure in coordination with the Technology teams. The overall objective of this role is to lead efforts to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned framework

Job Responsibility:

  • Support Group Manager by providing conceptual analyses for a variety of broad and complex issues
  • Manage products from design to implementation and ongoing performance according to business need
  • Ensure all technology standards are developed, understood and adhered to operationally around the globe
  • Ensure that Citi makes appropriate strategic choices in onboarding, managing and exiting of vendors from the product portfolio
  • Assume direct management of part of team consisting of various technology disciplines, overseeing planning, performance management/counseling and other personnel actions
  • Provides an environment where Subject Matter Experts can prosper and deliver effectively
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of how technology integrates within Citi and of direct competitors products and services
  • Make evaluative judgments based on analyzing information in complicated or unique situations, utilizing multiple sources of information
  • Negotiate with senior leaders across functions, and with external parties, as required

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in an Engineering role with extensive experience in business, functional and people management
  • Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment
  • Project Management experience
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
  • Demonstrated coding skills (Python and/or Java)
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Proven track record of operational process change and improvement
