Job Description:

Deputy team leader to join the long-standing team of carers providing 24 hour support for a 29 year old man who has epilepsy, cerebral palsy, profound learning difficulties and severe visual impairment. Based in the family home, he accesses activities within the community.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide personal care
  • Administer regular and emergency medication
  • Facilitate social and sensory activities
  • manage laundry/keep spaces clean and tidy
  • help to train, manage and support the members of the team

Requirements:

  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • No pre-existing musculo-skeletal or back injuries or personal health problems which would make it inappropriate to be solely responsible for a wholly dependent person
  • > 2 years experience of working with young people with sensory impairment, learning disability, physical disability and epilepsy
  • driver's licence

Nice to have:

  • Flexibility in providing 24 hour care
  • Experience in delivering physiotherapy, occupational therapy, sensory stimulation or using technology with children or adults with sensory needs
