Job Description

As a Deputy Nursery Manager you will be a key part of keep our children safe, loved and inspired to learn. The nursery is nestled in a peaceful and tranquil setting in a beautifully converted red-brick farmhouse providing a calm, home-from-home environment. Outdoor learning is at the heart of what they do.

Job Responsibility

  • Applying the Storal curriculum & our pedagogy principles to our children daily
  • Seeking out learning opportunities in everyday routines such as mealtimes & transitions
  • Bond with your children and their families by engaging in meaningful moments
  • A key part of keep our children safe, loved and inspired to learn

Requirements

  • Early Years qualification at Level 3
  • Experience working with all age groups within Early Years
  • A true love for child development and care
  • Able and willing to work in a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, your peers and parents
  • High levels of care and empathy that every opportunity can be a learning opportunity
  • Role modelling remarkable practice with the intent to support others around you
  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework

  • A minimum of a full and relevant level 3 Early Years qualification as defined by the DfE

  • To work under the direction of the Nursery Manager and deputise for her in her absence
  • To support the vision of the nursery and to assist the Nursery Manager in creating a caring, safe, nurturing learning environment for all children, the staff and volunteers involved in their care
  • Assist the Nursery Manager with the day to day running and management of the nursery, ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to and that high-quality childcare and learning is achieved for every child and to support the nursery management team with implementing and reviewing improvement plan targets for those employees not meeting the company requirements
  • Provide leadership and inspiration to staff and volunteers at the nursery and encourage and support their professional development as agreed by the Nursery Manager
  • In conjunction with the Nursery Manager ensure compliance of all relevant legislation including the General Data Protection Regulations, The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, The SEND Code of Practice 2014 and any guidance published by the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED)
