Job Description:

We’re looking for a dynamic Deputy News Editor who can build on the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star's online growth, while also ensuring our thousands of print readers get the rich storytelling they deserve in their daily paper. You’ll work with a team of journalists in our newsroom in Ipswich, Suffolk, to get the most out of their stories.

Job Responsibility:

  • Grow the audience on the brands’ websites
  • drive digital subscriptions
  • help reporters cater to our loyal audience
  • ensure our newsletters are of a high standard
  • work alongside the rest of the newsdesk editors, motivating, mentoring and developing the reporting team
  • help run the day-to-day news agenda, planning, investigations and campaigns
  • lead the content mix for the two printed daily newspapers
  • when other editors are away, step up and fulfil those duties
