Ryanair, Europe’s Largest Airline Group, is currently hiring for a Deputy Materials Manager to join our team! The Deputy Materials Manager will support the effective management of Ryanair’s aircraft component repair cycle and the broader Materials function. Working closely with the Materials Manager, this role ensures the efficient flow of components, robust vendor performance, cost control, and full regulatory compliance across Ryanair’s growing fleet. You will be involved in day-to-day operational oversight, team coordination, process optimisation, and supporting both Line and Heavy Maintenance operations. Job Responsibility:
Support the end-to-end management of component repairs, including dispatch, tracking progress, and ensuring the timely return-to-service of parts
Assist in managing vendor performance, monitoring turnaround times (TAT), service levels, and adherence to agreed SLAs
Support warranty claim management and contract compliance activities
Ensure accurate documentation, certification, and traceability of repaired components in accordance with EASA/CAA/FAA requirements
Coordinate with Planning, Line Maintenance, and Heavy Maintenance teams to ensure repair forecasts and inventory requirements are met
Support AOG and defect-driven material requirements to minimise aircraft downtime
Monitor and maintain the accuracy of the open RO Book to ensure timely component availability
Support the management of Logistics and Stores teams to ensure efficient handling, distribution, and storage of aircraft components
Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives to streamline and automate materials and repair processes
Contribute to the development and tracking of KPIs for the Materials department
Support budget monitoring activities and cost-control measures across the Materials department
Assist in data gathering and preparation for contract negotiations with repair vendors and suppliers
Monitor cost variances, repair expenditure, and warranty recovery opportunities
Requirements:
A relevant qualification at degree level or equivalent
Experience in an aviation materials, repair management, or supply-chain-related role
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, high pressure environment
Excellent numerical ability with exposure to cost control or contract oversight
Knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements (EASA/CAA/FAA) preferred
Strong computer literacy with experience using ERP/MRO systems
Ability to work on own initiative with mature judgement and decision-making capability
Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and build supplier relationships
