Job Description:

As a Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the service. You will provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting best practices in care delivery.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager in delivering person-centred services
  • Monitoring health and safety for service users and staff
  • Supervising and mentoring support workers, including recruitment, induction, and performance management
  • Ensuring compliance with CQC standards and safeguarding procedures
  • Managing rotas, staffing levels, and contributing to budget oversight
  • Promoting service user involvement and choice in their care
  • Acting as a positive role model and providing leadership in the absence of the Registered Manager

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, DOLS, and health & safety regulations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Excellent communication and planning abilities
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in on-call rota
  • Ability to live within reasonable distance for out-of-hours support

Nice to have:

  • NVQ Level 5 in Social Care
  • Experience in managing budgets and complex rostering
  • A positive role model with a commitment to high standards
  • Ability to build rapport with service users and their families
