Job Description:

HSBC Digital Business Services is a pivotal part of the Group, providing operational and technical support to global businesses. The Deputy Manager role focuses on branch management, relationship building with regulators, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements, maintaining operational efficiency, and supporting service excellence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Engage with DBS functions and understand their strategies, initiatives, key challenges, and deliverables
  • cooperate with branch managers for staff management, regulatory compliance, relationship building, and public affairs
  • manage the branch to ensure its effectiveness and efficiency
  • support DBS functions in maintaining operational efficiency and customer service
  • ensure branch operations comply with local regulatory requirements
  • maintain cordial relationships with local government authorities and regulators to establish communication channels
  • help embed controls in processes and cultural establishment
  • oversee DBS services including GPU, CRE, Corporate Security, Ops, counter services, and branch administration

Requirements:

  • Keep good balance between supporting DBS functions in achieving service and operation excellence
  • oversee stability of local business systems and compliance of rules and regulations
  • organize and govern an efficient DBS workforce in a dynamic regulatory environment with limited resources
  • coordinate branch collaboration models across GBs/GFs
  • oversee a wide range of DBS services including Operations, Corporate Real Estate, Procurement, Information Technology, and Corporate Security
  • master job knowledge of China banking regulations, banking operations, accounting/financial control, and credit risk management, security management, people and property management, IT/system knowledge
  • university degree or above with minimum 4 years of financial institution working experience or minimum 6 years of relevant financial experience
  • good professional ethics, integrity, conduct, and reputation without record of violations
  • high level of leadership, incident management, and communication skills
  • fluency in Mandarin and English, both oral and written
