Forevercare provide person centred support and care for children and young people between the ages of 5 and 18 years with a variety of different needs and requirements. The Deputy Manager will assist and work closely alongside the Registered Manager in the planning, organising and management of the home. To take lead responsibility for key areas as designated by the Registered Manager. You will be required to foster good morale and team spirit amongst the staff team and good relationships with the local community to create a warm, homely, caring environment within the home whilst catering for the children, nevertheless taking into account the needs of the individual. Ensure the highest standards of physical, social and emotional care is offered, exceeding any guidance and standards set by Ofsted.
Job Responsibility:
To offer quality support to service users to enable them to develop positive life skills
To respect, value and nurture service users to allow their individual talents and strengths to develop
To work alongside the Registered Manager in managing the home
To take appropriate action to ensure there is sufficient staff coverage at all times
Ensure efficient and known channels of communication for the dissemination of information
Ensure that training needs are identified and monitored accurately
Seek to maintain the maximum level of individuality and independence of the children
Ensure that all children receive proper medical, dental and all health care needs
Comply at all times with the requirements of the company’s Standard Operating procedures
Participate in reviews, meetings, case conferences etc as and when required
Ensure that proper attention is given by staff to the health, safety and welfare matters
Co-operate at all times with the differing social services departments, staff and other professionals
The Deputy Manager is expected to work 40 hours per week
To be available to undertake on-call for advice, guidance and emergency situations
To ensure there are systems in place and procedures are followed in all aspects of working in an Ofsted regulated children's home
Behave at all times in a responsible manner
The Deputy Manager will perform any other duties required and directed by the company or Registered Manager
The Deputy Manager will be responsible for the induction of new staff
To comply with company rules, respond to emergencies, work in accordance to the Quality Standards and care home regulations
The Deputy Manager will be productive in building good relationships with referring agencies
The Deputy will take overall management responsibilities in the absence of the Manager
Requirements:
Minimum 6 months experience in a relevant field is desirable
Transferable Adults and Children’s DBS is desirable
A relevant qualification is desirable e.g. Level 3 Diploma in residential Care or equivalent
Requires excellent time management and organisational skills, with ability to take responsibility for own work load
Nice to have:
A relevant qualification is desirable e.g. Level 3 Diploma in residential Care or equivalent but not essential
Minimum 6 months experience in a relevant field is desirable but not essential
Transferable Adults and Children’s DBS is desirable
