Compass Associates are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established elderly care provider in the recruitment of a Deputy Manager for a residential and dementia care home in Garforth, Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Care Team Leader or Deputy Manager looking to join a supportive organisation that is committed to delivering outstanding person-centred care. Working closely alongside the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operational management of the home, ensuring residents receive exceptional care while maintaining high standards of compliance, quality and staff performance. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll lead by example, support and develop the care team, and help drive a positive culture throughout the service.
Job Responsibility
Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the home
Deputise for the Registered Manager during periods of absence
Lead and motivate the care team to deliver exceptional person-centred care
Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, company policies and best practice
Oversee care plans, medication management, audits and risk assessments
Support recruitment, inductions, supervisions, appraisals and staff development
Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and external professionals
Assist with occupancy enquiries and admissions where required
Support rota planning and staffing arrangements to maintain safe staffing levels
Participate in the management on-call rota, responding to operational issues and emergencies when required
Requirements
Previous experience working within an elderly residential care home in a senior leadership position
Minimum of two years' experience within residential care
At least one year's leadership experience
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards)
Good understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding and current health and social care legislation
Experience with care planning, medication management and risk assessments
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
Ability to participate in an on-call rota
What we offer
Salary of £32,000 per annum
Monday to Friday working pattern (8:00am – 4:00pm)
