Brook Street Social Care is currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a newly renovated Children's Residential Home in Purley. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, dedicated team that places the welfare and best interests of children at the heart of everything they do. The home has recently received an OFSTED rating of 'Good' with Outstanding Leadership & Management, and the team is now looking for a passionate and committed Deputy Manager to help drive the next stage of development. The four-bedded children's home provides a supportive, family-style environment for young people aged 9-18 (male and female) with social, emotional and behavioural needs. The service is committed to providing young people with meaningful opportunities including: Travel experiences; Sports mentorship; Educational support; Therapeutic interventions.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
Provide strong leadership, supervision and support to the staff team
Ensure the service delivers high-quality care that exceeds Ofsted standards
Promote a positive and supportive team culture
Monitor and review policies, procedures and care plans
Ensure safeguarding and compliance with relevant legislation
Support the ongoing development and training of staff
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior role within a Children's Residential Home
Strong understanding of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Experience supervising and managing staff teams
Knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and relevant legislation
Strong administration and organisational skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
Passion, resilience and dedication to improving outcomes for young people
Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including some evenings and weekends
Minimum 2 years' experience working in an OFSTED-regulated Residential Children's Home
