We are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a children's residential home in Weston-Super-Mare. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong Senior or existing Deputy Manager to step into a leadership role within a supportive and nurturing environment, working with young people aged 8-18 with complex needs and behaviours. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home delivers high-quality, safe and Ofsted-compliant care, while supporting and developing the staff team.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
Lead shifts and supervise staff to ensure safe and effective care delivery
Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of all young people
Support care planning, reviews, and regulatory compliance
Contribute to achieving and maintaining GOOD or above Ofsted ratings
Act as the lead in the absence of the Registered Manager
Support staff through supervision, mentoring, and development
Build strong relationships with external professionals and families
Requirements:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
Experience within children's residential care
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted regulations
Ability to lead shifts and manage staff effectively
Full UK driving licence
Nice to have:
Previous Deputy Manager or Senior experience
Experience supporting children with complex behaviours
