Job Description:

As a Deputy Manager, you will help shape the culture, guide the team, and create a home where young people are truly seen, valued, and supported. This is a role for someone who wants to lead with heart and direction — not just manage paperwork.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead shifts and deputise for the Registered Manager
  • Support, guide, and develop the team through coaching, feedback & supervision
  • Promote safeguarding and emotional safety every moment of every day
  • Build trusted relationships with young people and help them grow in confidence and independence
  • Oversee care plans, daily records, audits, and compliance
  • Champion education, wellbeing, community engagement, and identity
  • Help young people prepare for adulthood with practical life skills
  • Represent the home in multi-agency meetings and reviews
  • Model, encourage, and protect a culture of reflection, respect, and growth

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Children & Young People qualification (or equivalent)
  • At least 1 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting
  • Full UK manual driving licence
  • Ability to be flexible with working days/hours to meet the needs of the home

Nice to have:

  • Leadership experience in a residential childcare setting
  • Level 4/5 Leadership & Management qualification
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and PACE
