We are seeking an experienced and committed Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a 4-bed children's residential home for young people aged 8-17. This role is key to ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care in line with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards. You will lead shifts, support staff, and help create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
Job Responsibility
Support the Registered Manager in the effective running of the home
Take responsibility for the home in the Manager's absence
Lead shifts and provide direction to the staff team
Ensure safeguarding practices are consistently upheld
Support young people's emotional, social, and educational development
Supervise, mentor, and develop staff performance
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
Work in partnership with local authorities, schools, and professionals
Contribute to audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes
Requirements
Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People (essential)
Experience working in a children's residential setting
Previous leadership or senior-level experience
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and childcare regulations
Willingness to undertake Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification
