Job Description

We are looking for a Deputy Manager to join our team at Ashdown Care. This is a full-time role supporting a young person with complex needs in a 3-bed children’s home. You will work alongside the Registered Manager to deliver high-quality, child-centred care, ensuring the young person’s needs are met in a safe, supportive environment. The role includes weekend shifts and 1 sleep-in per week.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist the Registered Manager in leading and managing the home, ensuring compliance with regulations and high-quality care
  • Supervise and support staff to deliver person-centred care and maintain a positive environment
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and risk assessments are regularly reviewed
  • Lead by example, promoting continuous improvement and reflective practice within the team
  • Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager
  • Contribute to the Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 monitoring processes
  • Prepare the home for Ofsted inspections and ensure compliance with Ofsted standards

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3/4 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting
  • Experience in supervising or mentoring staff
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour management, and Ofsted regulations
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexible, with the ability to work weekends and undertake sleep-ins
  • Warm, approachable, and passionate about making a positive impact on children’s lives
