Exciting Opportunity for a Deputy Manager in Hoddesdon. If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in a residential care home in Hoddesdon. About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care and support to young people within a nurturing and supportive environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the home
  • Supervise and mentor a team of dedicated Residential Childcare Workers
  • Develop and implement individual care plans for young people, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Build positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and best practice guidelines
  • Deputise for the Home Manager in their absence
  • Participate in on-call rota as required

Requirements:

  • Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Proven experience of working in a residential care setting for young people
  • Experience of supervising and mentoring staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of young people
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations (e.g., Children Act 1989)
