We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and highly skilled Deputy Head of Secondary to join our leadership team in August 2026. The ideal candidate will provide strong academic and pastoral leadership, drive high standards across the Secondary School, and support a positive, collaborative culture aligned with the values and vision of King’s College Panama.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the Head of Secondary in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Secondary School
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of the school improvement plan, academic priorities, and whole-school initiatives
  • Lead key operational areas such as timetabling, staffing deployment, academic calendar planning, and daily logistics
  • Serve as an active member of the School Leadership Team, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and alignment across departments
  • Monitor and drive high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment practices across the Secondary School
  • Use academic and pastoral data to track student progress, identify gaps, and implement targeted interventions
  • Strengthen the delivery of international curricula (IGCSE, A-Levels, and Inspired academic standards)
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Reinforce pastoral and safeguarding frameworks, collaborating with tutors, Heads of Year, and the school counsellor
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff through clear communication and visible leadership
  • Support parent engagement initiatives, information sessions, and academic-related events
  • Represent the Secondary School in external activities, partnerships, and school-wide events
  • Ensure smooth operational functioning, including cover arrangements, emergency procedures, and policy implementation
  • Contribute to the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of teaching staff
  • Support compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and Inspired Education policies

Requirements:

  • A degree in Education or a related field
  • a recognised teaching qualification is essential
  • Significant leadership experience within international or bilingual schools, ideally at Head of Department, Assistant Head, or Deputy Head level
  • Strong knowledge of international curricula (Cambridge IGCSE/A-Levels or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated success in improving teaching, learning, and student outcomes through data-driven strategies
  • Excellent people-management skills and the ability to inspire, motivate, and support teachers
  • Proven experience in student wellbeing, safeguarding, and pastoral leadership
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Native-level English proficiency (spoken and written)
  • A collaborative leadership style with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to the values of Inspired Education: academic excellence, personal growth, global-mindedness, and holistic student development
