St. Louis School Archinto is seeking a Deputy Head (Academics) to join our senior leadership team. This role focuses on academic leadership, curriculum development, and student achievement across the Secondary School.
Job Responsibility:
Lead teaching and learning across the Secondary School, maintaining the highest academic standards
Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum, ensuring coherence and alignment with best practices
Support and develop Heads of Department and subject leaders, fostering a culture of collaboration and academic excellence
Lead staff professional development, mentoring, and coaching to improve pedagogy and student outcomes
Play a key role in recruitment, retention, and performance management of teaching staff
Analyse student progress data to inform strategic improvement initiatives
Work with the Head Teacher to shape and deliver the school’s academic vision and strategic priorities
Contribute to self-evaluation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement processes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
Proven leadership experience as a Head of Department or senior academic leader in an excellent school
Deep understanding of the British National Curriculum and IGCSE, with a track record of raising student achievement
Experience leading professional development and supporting teacher growth
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive improvement
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safeguarding, student welfare, and wellbeing
Nice to have:
Experience with IB programmes
Italian language skills (advantageous but not essential)
