Job Description:

Our client is seeking a permanent full-time Deputy General Counsel to join their team in the Atlanta, GA region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate and business law, combined with expertise in consumer regulatory compliance and commercial contracts. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse legal matters while contributing to strategic decisions that impact the organization.

Job Responsibility:

Provide legal advice on corporate governance, business law, and regulatory compliance matters
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Handle real estate legal issues, including landlord-tenant matters and property agreements
Manage consumer protection and fair housing disclosure compliance
Address legal concerns related to deceptive practices and advertising regulations
Oversee legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and contract execution
Collaborate with internal teams to support legal operations and project management initiatives
Resolve disputes involving insurance defense and personal injury claims
Advise on the legal implications of consumer-facing marketing and business strategies
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations affecting the organization

Requirements:

8-10+ years of experience in corporate law and business legal matters
Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
Strong knowledge of mergers and acquisitions processes and corporate governance
Familiarity with real estate law, including landlord-tenant regulations
Experience in handling consumer complaints and regulatory compliance
Solid understanding of consumer protection laws and marketing regulations
Background in legal operations and project management
Excellent communication and analytical skills to address complex legal issues
