Job Description:

Deputy Director – Finance (SCS1) role at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Leading a team of c.45, reporting to the CFO, responsible for Strategic Finance, Finance Business Partnering, Business Planning, Financial Operations and Financial Control.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the Finance function
  • Provide high quality financial management support and leadership
  • Contribute to the organisation's strategic planning and driving change
  • Attend the Agency’s Audit & Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC)
  • Chair the Resources Committee that monitors financial management

Requirements:

  • CCAB or CIMA professional accounting qualification with significant post qualification experience
  • Proven ability to lead a finance function and contribute to wider leadership of a complex organisation
  • Strong strategic analysis and planning skills
  • Excellent commercial skills and a proven ability to develop talent and build sustainable high performance
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with other software tools
