Job Description

We are seeking a strategic communications leader to join us as Deputy Director – Corporate Communications. This role demands exceptional command over business communication, powerful writing and storytelling capabilities, and the professional maturity to engage confidently with senior leadership and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. This involves heading a team responsible for delivering high-impact enterprise-wide corporate communication initiatives and translating leadership vision into compelling, strategic narratives. Located in Chennai, he/she will collaborate extensively with company leaders, business unit heads, HR, Marketing, and other stakeholders in various global locations. This role may involve some amount of travel within and outside India, based on business requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of communication, social media, design, and multimedia professionals while fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
  • Develop and execute enterprise-level communication strategies aligned with organizational goals, leadership vision, and brand positioning
  • Drive internal communications including leadership announcements, employee engagement communication, organizational updates, newsletters, and strategic messaging
  • Handle Business Continuity Planning (BCP) communication, crisis communication, and other time-sensitive organizational communication requirements effectively based on leadership instructions
  • Lead public relations and media relations initiatives, managing end-to-end execution of leadership visibility programs, press communications, executive messaging, media engagement, and corporate reputation management
  • Drive the organization’s employer branding and online reputation through impactful social media communication, strategic storytelling, and consistent brand messaging across all digital platforms
  • Personally contribute to high-value communication deliverables with executive-level writing, editing, storytelling, and creative direction, ensuring exceptional standards in quality, accuracy, grammar, formatting, and corporate presentation
  • Work closely with stakeholders across locations and functions to understand business priorities and translate them into effective communication outcomes

Requirements

  • Exceptional command of written and spoken business English, with outstanding writing, editing, storytelling, and creative communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Proven experience in handling executive communication, crisis communication, and enterprise-level communication initiatives
  • Clear understanding of corporate communication styles, executive messaging, and enterprise branding standards
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and people management capabilities
  • High level of ownership, accountability, responsiveness, and attention to detail
  • Strong expertise in presentation creation, strategic communication planning, and high-impact content development.
  • Hands on experience with digital communication platforms, social media growth strategy, and multimedia communication practices
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in a similar organization, including at least 5 years in a leadership role managing teams of communication/marketing professionals
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English Literature, Mass Communication, Marketing, or a related discipline.
