This is a pivotal senior leadership role at the heart of our Adult Social Care system. As Deputy DASS, you will work alongside and deputise for the Director of Adult Social Services to shape vision, lead transformation, and ensure resilient, compliant, high-performing services across the borough.
Job Responsibility:
Provide strategic and operational oversight across assessment and care management services, safeguarding, locality-based teams, and integrated pathways
Champion co production, strengths-based practice, and innovation
Embed a high performance culture while ensuring statutory compliance, safeguarding excellence, and robust governance
Play a key role in delivering transformation programmes, driving CQC improvement, and strengthening workforce development
Lead strategic budget planning and support delivery of the Medium Term Financial Strategy for a £110m portfolio
Lead Haringey’s contribution to the Neighbourhood Health Service, embedding Adult Social Care within place-based models of integrated care
Work closely with partners across the Integrated Care Board (ICB), NHS, Primary Care, voluntary sector, and internal council services to deliver seamless, community-centred support
Requirements:
A professional Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
Extensive senior leadership experience within Adult Social Care in a large, complex organisation
In depth knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding frameworks and the statutory responsibilities of the DASS
Proven experience of deputising at Director level and providing senior assurance, governance and continuity
A strong track record of leading transformation, service improvement and CQC related improvement
Experience of place based working and integrated care systems, with the ability to lead effective partnerships across health, housing, public health and the voluntary sector
Strong financial, analytical and performance management capability, including experience using business intelligence tools such as Power BI
The ability to engage, influence and advise elected Members, senior officers, partners and communities
A clear commitment to co production, prevention, strengths based practice and tackling inequalities
