Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and dedicated Deputy Course Manager to join our team, supporting the Course Manager in overseeing the daily operation of the golf course and ensuring that planned maintenance activities are carried out to the highest standard. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of our course while working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the Course Manager in overseeing the daily operation of the golf course
  • Ensure planned maintenance activities are carried out to the highest standard
  • Oversee and assist with the upkeep of all plant, machinery, and equipment used on the golf course
  • Liaise with external contractors and engineers to ensure any faults are promptly addressed
  • Work closely with the Course Manager to select, train and evaluate Greenkeepers
  • Ensure Greenkeepers operate machinery and equipment efficiently and safely
  • Plan and implement maintenance schedules
  • Inspect the course regularly
  • Ensure all areas, from bunkers to water features, are well-maintained
  • Assist in maintaining irrigation systems
  • Enforce health and safety policies
  • Provide valuable input on equipment purchases
  • In the absence of the Course Manager, chair departmental meetings
  • Ensure any member feedback is passed on to help continually improve the course

Requirements

  • Experience in the maintenance, operation or management of a golf course and related facilities and equipment
  • Previous supervisory experience
