Job Description

Responsible for all commercial and contract matters on the project. The project is Snowy 2.0, one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world, located within the Snowy Mountains in NSW, Australia.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide commercial and contract advice and support to project team members
  • Team management, including effective performance management and career planning
  • Liaising with production teams regarding up and down stream contractual compliance/claims
  • Assisting the production teams on commercial related matters to ensure programme and cost impacts are minimised
  • Develop and deliver commercial training tailored for specific agreements and work fronts
  • Participate in project risk and opportunity reviews
  • Comply with relevant Webuild Operating Standards (subject to relevant Project specific limitations) relating to contracting head contract and all subcontracts to optimise earnings on project
  • Oversight of all claims and variations for the adjustment of compensation and time under the head contract and various subcontracts
  • Management and resolution of all claims with client and subcontractors / suppliers
  • Ensure timely submission of progress payment claims under head contract and receipt of client monies in the correct timeframe
  • Provide input to cost control and forecasting of final cost at completion position and forecast final project earnings
  • Oversee insurance related items

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, law, construction management, quantity surveying, or economics (CM&E) preferred
  • White Card
  • Greater than 15 years of experience in the project delivery, engineering and construction industry
  • Greater than 15 years of direct experience as a commercial or contracts manager on large value engineering and construction projects
  • Extensive experience in managing teams in a Project environment
  • Experience with managing incentivised target cost contracts
  • Ability to effectively manage a team, including performance management, career planning and resourcing
  • Effective stakeholder engagement with internal departments to ensure contractual compliance and sound commercial decision making
  • Sound interpersonal skills, collaboratively minded and ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders
  • Maintain project governance while minimising impact to production
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences
  • Strong risk management and analytical skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets and can prioritise tasks under pressure
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Good organisational skills and able to pay attention to detail
