Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our large-scale, high-volume coffee shop. With over 300 covers and a dynamic team of 50 staff members, this is a hands-on role requiring excellent leadership, organisational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the Catering Manager in leading all aspects of the day-to-day operations, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and customer-focused environment
  • Lead by example on the shop floor, setting high standards for service, food safety, cleanliness, and presentation
  • Supervise, coach, and motivate a team of 50 staff members, including front-of-house, and kitchen team members
  • Manage staff rotas, break schedules, and shift allocations in real-time to respond to peak trading periods
  • Oversee the quality and consistency of food and drink, ensuring compliance with all food safety and health & safety legislation
  • Support with stock control, ordering, and waste reduction initiatives to maximise profitability
  • Handle customer feedback and complaints in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new team members, promoting a positive and inclusive working culture
  • Ensure all operational procedures, policies, and compliance checks are followed and documented correctly
  • Deputise for the Catering Manager during periods of absence

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role within a fast-paced food and beverage environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a large and diverse team
  • Confident decision-maker with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A keen eye for operational detail and the ability to thrive under pressure
