Job Description:

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer will act as a senior strategic leader within GAVO, strengthening external influence, partnership working and national engagement, while providing clear direction and oversight of the organisation’s Strategic and Operational Plans. The DCEO plays a critical role in connecting GAVO’s delivery, partnerships and national work, ensuring the organisation is strategically positioned, responsive to opportunity and aligned with the expectations of the Board, funders and the Third Sector Support Wales (TSSW) framework. The postholder deputises for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as required and works alongside them to provide visible, credible leadership internally, regionally and nationally.

Requirements:

  • Proven strategic leadership experience from within the voluntary, community, or public sector
  • Operated confidently at a senior level, working closely with boards or governing bodies
  • Strong track record of building effective partnerships and representing your organisation externally
  • Hold a relevant management qualification (e.g., Level 5) or be able to demonstrate equivalent senior leadership experience
  • Commitment to continuous personal and professional development
