Join our Operational Team and help keep our vehicles safe, compliant, and ready to deliver the brilliant service AO is known for. You’ll be hands‑on every day—securing loads, supporting maintenance, completing checks, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll work closely with our engineers, self‑employed crews, and contractors to keep our fleet moving. If something needs fixing, organising, or sharing, you’ll be the go‑to person who gets it sorted. Your work keeps our drivers safe, our customers happy, and our standards sky‑high. Because at AO, every delivery counts—and you’ll help make every one of them amazing.

Job Responsibility

  • Make sure every vehicle is loaded safely, secure, and fully compliant with transport rules
  • Keep an eye on deliveries through the day and step in fast when something needs sorting
  • Support new starters by showing them the ropes
  • Share daily/weekly priorities so the whole team's on the same page
  • Work side-by-side with the team, helping split tasks and keeping everyone moving
  • Carry out alcohol testing when required
  • Handle small vehicle repairs and get servicing booked in on time
  • Chat with Drivers, answering questions and resolving issues
  • Tranship and reload vehicles to keep the operation flowing smoothly
  • Complete in-house reports accurately and on time

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of safe loading and transport compliance
  • Strong delivery-monitoring and quick problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting and training new starters, especially around Safe Systems of Work and key Health & Safety basics
  • Clear, confident communication
  • A hands-on team player who can organise tasks, support colleagues, and get stuck in
  • Basic vehicle maintenance know-how, from minor repairs to arranging timely services
  • Great driver engagement and a customer-focused approach
