Job Description:

We are now seeking an experienced and highly organised Depot Manager who will oversee and optimise our transport operations to ensure a first class service to our customers close to our Inverurie site. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan, manage, and optimise transport and distribution operations
  • Oversee Transport Manager responsibilities, including maintenance and compliance
  • Coordinate logistics, warehousing, and stock replenishment activities
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement continuous improvements
  • Manage budgets, cost control, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, legal, and environmental regulations
  • Lead, train, and develop logistics teams
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, clients, and stakeholders
  • Resolve operational issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in transport and logistics and strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance standards
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with experience with analysis and reporting
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Relevant qualifications in logistics (preferred)
  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification (desired but not essential)
  • Experience with fleet management systems and route planning and optimisation tools (desired but not essential)
