Job Description

The role as Depot Coordinator (with driving duties) is a varied and very rewarding position within the Bestway Wholesale family. Reporting to the Contract Account Controller, you will be operating in Bestway Enfield for the Contract sales team. Whilst providing administrative support to ensure the compliance of our 7.5t trucks and drivers, you will also be involved in preparing customer orders for our wholesale customers and seeing these orders are delivered as efficiently as possible. The role involves collaborating with the sales team, customers and colleagues to provide excellent customer service. With a customer centric approach, you should be passionate about putting the customer first, ensuring that exceptional levels of customer service are provided at all times. Working well as part of a team, skilful time management and organisational skills will be some of your strengths, as well as excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with confidence. You should also have the ability to work creatively, bringing fresh approaches to solving problems.

Job Responsibility

  • Preparing orders: Raising customer invoices, planning deliveries and overseeing loading of trucks
  • Driving duties: Delivering orders to Wholesale customers, including ensuring payments are taken for the orders and correct paperwork is issued
  • Administrative support for O Licence compliance: Ensure the trucks maintenance timetable is followed and any scheduled work is carried out and documented in both digital and paper files
  • Document driver CPC: Collection of driver CPC information for O Licence for Driver Files
  • Cash handling: collecting, counting and banking (in depot) of customer payments for orders delivered

Requirements

  • Relevant licences for a 7.5 tonne driver including a C1 licence, CPC and a Tachograph card
  • Good level of written and spoken English
  • Fantastic organisational and time management skills

Nice to have

  • Experience of working in a customer-facing role
  • Cash, card and cheque handling experience
  • A strong understanding of WTD and drivers hours’ requirements
  • A strong understanding of maintenance requirements for HGVs
