Job Description

Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Department Administrator position in it's Steel Producing Division located at the Burns Harbor, Indiana Plant.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as a liaison between Steel, Human Resources, Labor Relations, & Payroll departments in matters concerning employees, payroll, & special projects
  • Process & oversee hourly & salaried payroll in conjunction with hourly clerical technicians: review & approve payments
  • investigate & correct discrepancies
  • coach & support hourly clerical timekeepers
  • audit, track, & report attendance, overtime, & vacation usage
  • Train hourly clerical staff & fill-in for vacancies as needed
  • Coordinate & document intra/interdepartmental personnel changes (demotions, promotions, transfers, etc.)
  • Keep track of internal and plant wide bids
  • Submit & track IT access, equipment, & service requests
  • Order non-operating supplies
  • Responsible for the administration, posting, communication and coordination of company and department policies
  • Assist and support various area managers
  • Process monthly reports such as layered audits and safety observations
  • Other duties as assigned
