Dentist’s responsibilities include developing suitable treatment plans for patients, keeping an accurate record of all appointments, diagnoses, and treatments, and answering patients’ questions.
Job Responsibility:
To provide a wide range of dental services including, but not limited to: Review Triage information
Diagnose and Recommendations for Treatment
Provide Treatment: Extractions (simple/surgical) and Restorations (amalgam/composite)
Prescribe Preventive Treatment: Prophylaxis, Debridement, Scaling and Root Planing
Provide Patient Education Support for Dental Pain Management
Follow Protocol for Documentation: Diagnosis, Treatments, Prescriptions
Complete reports as directed
Provide indirect supervision to Volunteer Residents on-site, Hygienists, and Dental Assistants
To participate, with the division director in the evaluation of staff assigned.
To provide clinical services in preventive, restorative, and curative dentistry
performs professional work in the field of dentistry governed generally by broad instructions, objectives, and policies.
To participate in staff meetings and training programs as directed and to the extent necessary to maintain currency of credentials and to assure knowledge and skills necessary for required professional practice.
To serve on Agency and community committees and otherwise represent the Agency as requested by the Division Director.
Requirements:
DDS or DMD from an accredited university with a current South Carolina dental license
Sitting, standing, and walking for long periods
Tolerating moderate noise levels from dental and other office equipment.
Maintaining professionalism in stressful situation.
Frequent bending, twisting, and position changes to examine and service patients.
