Job Description:
This role provides comprehensive technical and administrative support to staff and students across a range of teaching, learning, and research activities, primarily within the Dental Hygiene and Therapy team. The post holder will be responsible for the preparation, organisation, maintenance, and ongoing development of specialist clinical, laboratory, and simulation environments, along with the associated equipment, hardware, software, and digital systems required to support high‑quality teaching and learning. Key duties include supporting practical classes and skills sessions, issuing and managing equipment, and ensuring that all facilities and resources operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with health and safety requirements. The role also involves overseeing students undertaking practical skills within the clinical setting and supporting the course team during recruitment activities, including participation in interviews. In addition, the post holder will undertake a range of administrative responsibilities, including ordering and maintaining equipment, managing inventories and registers, and ensuring compliance with mandatory procedures and institutional policies. This is a varied and hands‑on role, requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with academic, clinical, and professional services colleagues.
