Under the general direction of a Licensed Team Member, performs a variety of clinical and clerical tasks in support of clinical care activities in a dental outpatient environment.
Job Responsibility:
Maintains inventory of equipment, instruments and supplies
Assists with replacements/repairs
Maximizes room utilization through inventory, stocking, cleaning of operatories, and daily preparation of dental units
Maintains cleanliness of waiting room
Anticipates and prepares equipment, material, and supply needs in consideration of patient/procedure complexity in support of timely and efficient clinic operations and provider schedules
Contacts patients to schedule/reschedule patient appointments
Maintains accurate demographic information in the scheduling system
Notifies of patient arrival and escorts patients through the clinic
Provides special assistance for non-ambulatory patients
Follows standard clinical safety protocol for Patient Identification Verification
Enters patient data into the electronic medical record
Reviews discharge instructions with patient as prepared by provider
Implements standard infection prevention measures, such as hand hygiene and surface decontamination, in accordance with EIOH infection prevention policy
Performs basic dental laboratory procedures such as model pouring for dentures and partials
Collects data for quality improvement/departmental studies
Supports and assists in research as directed
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School diploma or High School Student in good academic standing required
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and computer experience preferred
