Job Description:

The Dendrician Maintenance Specialist position is a labor-intensive position primarily involving the planting, maintaining, care and removal of public trees and other plant materials. The position offers a high degree of exposure to the public. The work is performed under the direction of the Tree Foreman with guidance from the Buildings and Grounds Manager.

Job Responsibility:

Planting, maintaining, care and removal of public trees and other plant materials

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or other related field
  • At least one year of work related experience in Forestry, Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, or a related field
  • A combination of professional certifications, education, and/or five (5) or more years of work related experience will also be considered
  • A commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement and without air brake restriction is required within six months of employment
  • A pesticide applicator's license is required within twelve months of date of employment
  • Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
