The Demo Solutions Engineer is a high impact role at Gong that is built to transform how we show the power of Gong to prospects, customers, and partners. As our Demo Engineer, you’ll be the go-to expert behind the tailored, story-driven demos that fuel our entire sales cycle and customer journey. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Partner teams to design demo environments that don’t just show Gong’s value; they prove it in real time. This role gives you a front-row seat to Gong’s full product suite and the chance to influence how it’s experienced by every GTM team member and external partners.
Job Responsibility:
Partnering with GTM, Marketing and Product teams: Build and maintain demo solutions that illustrate the value of the Gong platform
Ensure there are demo solutions for each persona that benefit from Gong
Document demo workflows and build additional content, as needed, to show customers how to leverage Gong for specific use cases
Partnering with our 3rd Party Provider: Gather data requirements to support demos, work with our solution provider to upload data for demos, and test various demo workflows for accuracy
Partnering with our Gong Product team: Work to identify new feature functionality being released in each of our products
Update demos to reflect new features and business value that can be derived
Partnering with Gong Engineering: Maintain the demo environments to ensure uptime and submit tickets in support of platform enhancements and issue resolution
Communicate new demo features and solutions to the field on a regular basis
Partner with our 3rd Party Provider: To set up customer sandboxes, configure them as needed, analyze usage of sandboxes, and report back to the sales and customer success teams
Maintain sandbox environments: creating and deleting unused customer sandboxes
Communicate sandbox usage to field teams
Participate in initiatives, ensuring the internal sales team has everything needed on the front line
Create and deliver content for Sales and Presales teams to use in selling efforts
Conduct demos, as necessary, to enable internal teams
Conduct demos, as necessary, to support conferences and analyst reviews
Help lead and own demo-based initiatives, including building project timelines and setting deliverables
Identify project challenges/risks and ways to overcome them
Report on project status and barriers and present insights/results to Presales Leadership & GTM Demo Committee
Research emerging markets / new verticals and the challenges facing specific buyer personas within Gong’s target markets
Thoroughly understand all aspects of the Gong platform in order to explain the technology to all types of users
Contribute reusable assets to the Sales Engineering team and the company at-large
Assist prospects and customers with Business Assessments (POCs, Pilots)
Assist with RFPs and questionnaires in the context of sales cycles
Requirements:
5+ years in a demo engineering/sales engineering role
Or a combination of pre-sales and other relevant work experience involving program and project teams
In-depth knowledge of sales processes and personas that support a revenue organization to ensure data is aligned with customer outcomes
Experience with demo frameworks (e.g., 6 Habits of Highly Effective Demo Leaders, Demo2Win, etc.)
Experience with demo solutions such as TestBox, Demostack, Saleo, Consensus, etc
Experience solving tough technical and integration challenges
Experience creating and maintaining demo datasets, scripts, and recordings
Experience working with and presenting to senior audiences in a professional and articulate manner
Experience in creating processes and enabling internal teams on these processes
Solid track record of creating and managing programs and projects with tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Fast Learner, adaptable, highly tolerant of change
