Job Description

An Epic Icon needs an Epic Team! Are you looking for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? Ayers Rock Resort is searching for a Demi Chef to live and work onsite at Yulara, NT which is 20 min drive from Uluru, one of Australia's most iconic and culturally significant landmarks. We are seeking a passionate and Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) qualified individual who is driven and focused with a desire to learn and succeed in a culinary/hospitality career. You will have minimum 2 years post apprenticeship experience working in a kitchen team within large restaurants, events, hotels or resorts, to working with a group of like-minded legends. A la carte and buffet experience will be highly regarded, HACCP training is advantageous.

Job Responsibility

  • Undertake all kitchen and service duties including cleaning, food preparation, basic cookery, organisation and guest service
  • Understand and follow the running sheets for setting up the different sections for both morning and night service
  • Assist in the supervision of junior kitchen staff by providing instruction of duties
  • Assist in the running of sections in the kitchen during the absence of the Chef De Partie

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years post apprenticeship experience working in a kitchen team within large restaurants, events, hotels or resorts
  • A la carte and buffet experience highly regarded
  • HACCP training advantageous
