Job Responsibility

  • Running your own section confidently during busy service, delivering consistent, high quality dishes every time
  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items to the exacting standards Santa Joana is known for
  • Supporting the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen team, and stepping up when needed
  • Maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness, food safety, and HACCP compliance across your station
  • Managing mise en place efficiently and minimising waste through smart, organised prep
  • Learning new techniques, dishes, and skills as we grow your craft and your career
  • Being a positive, reliable presence who lifts the energy of the whole kitchen team

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally as a Commis or Demi Chef de Partie
  • Genuine passion for food and a hunger to learn and improve
  • The ability to stay calm, focused, and organised under the pressure of a busy service
  • A strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
  • A team first attitude, great communication, and a willingness to muck in
  • Reliability, energy, and pride in everything you put on a plate
  • Right to Work in Portugal
