The Extracare Charitable Trust are recruiting for a Dementia and Mental Well-Being Enabler on a fixed-term contract to join our friendly and supportive team at Longbridge Retirement Village, based in Birmingham. Requirements
Provide one-to-one support to people living with dementia and common mental health conditions
Caseload management experience
Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
Experience in using cognitive assessments
Ability to develop empathic relationships with residents
Ability to use supervision effectively and self-reflect
Capacity to remain motivated even when working under pressure
Respect for other people's rights of autonomy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to apply your knowledge of psychosocial and solution-focused interventions to residents' problems
Understand the limits of your role and when to escalate cases for clinical input
Good IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Formal qualification in a relevant field (Health & Social Care, Psychology, Counselling)
Good understanding of the psychosocial approach
Good understanding of the needs of individuals living with dementia
Be able to describe pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for dementia symptoms
Good understanding of the needs of individuals living with common mental health conditions
